Pink Parcel People: Lorenzo, Warehouse Manager

Each week we’ll be bringing you an insight into the people behind Pink Parcel. This week, we speak to Warehouse Manager, Lorenzo.

Pink Parcel Warehouse Manager

Our new Warehouse Manager, Lorenzo.

What do you do at Pink?

I oversee all aspects of warehouse operations that ultimately align to dispatch the wonderful Pink Parcel and Betty Boxes that our subscribers love.

What’s the best bit of your job?

I’ve only been with the team for a little over a week now and I must say it is great to work with such hard-working, lovely people.  There is always an element of resistance to change but that is not felt in Pink Parcel as I feel everyone, from the warehouse operatives to the ladies upstairs, share a vision of where we want Pink Parcel to be in the future.

What’s the trickiest thing?

Making sure that the new warehouse layout and workflow procedures that are being introduced don’t add redundancy to operations and trying to keep everyone focused and on task at all times.

Tell us about an achievement that stands out during your time at the company…

Last week’s dispatch was one of the biggest ever and everything left the warehouse on time.  This is a great result and I intend to use this achievement as a warehouse benchmark!

What’s the favourite product you’ve discovered through your monthly box?

I love the Bahlsen Chocolate Leibniz Biscuits that are featured in this month’s box.

On Fridays at PP HQ we have team pizzas. What’s your favourite topping?

I haven’t had the pleasure of tasting it yet unfortunately! But as for favorite pizza topping, I would have to go with pepperoni.

How did you get your job?

I worked for a logistics and transport company in Italy that offered warehouse storage, picking & packing, e-commerce and all around supply chain solutions.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to follow your career path?

Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty and speak your mind.  You need to be confident in yourself and have a clear vision of where you want the company to go.  Adaptability is a must, being able to read situations and offer practical, immediate solutions.  Remember that you are nothing without your team, a truly inspiring achievement is only reached when it is a team effort.
