Have you ever thought about wearing a T-shirt covered in tampon boxes? No, us neither. However, illustrator and punk performer Seth Bogart thinks we shouldn’t disregard tampons as art!
Talking to New York magazine, Seth declared his love for tampons! “I just want to declare that I really love tampons aesthetically — the boxes and the packaging,” he told the magazine.
However, his T-shirt is more than just a love of packaging – he also wants women to be proud of their periods.
"I consider myself a feminist, which doesn’t have anything to do with tampons,” continued Seth.
We see where he’s coming from. Putting tampons on a T-shirt - something seen as private – is showing the world that it’s nothing to be ashamed of.
He has admitted however that the $49.95 design, which is available via his Wacky Wacko online shop, isn’t a best-seller. "It’s actually not that popular of a design,” Seth told New York magazine. “I think maybe it’s because it’s tampons. But the people who do wear it are cool, so."
In fact, there are a whole host of ‘cool’ people wearing his designs, including Miley Cyrus who wore another great period T-shirt, which says ‘Suffering From PMS: Putting Up With Men's Shit’. We like!
And he’s not the only one to love what this unique designer is doing. Heidi Slimane, the designer behind Saint Laurent Paris, has snapped him up for a collaboration on men’s shirts and accessories.
What do you think? Would you wear a T-shirt like this?
