6 ways to pamper yourself – without breaking the bank
We all need a little TLC at some point, but unfortunately pampering yourself can be costly – but not with the Pink Parcel team close at hand. We’ve got together some of our favourite fabulous – and cheap – ways to bring a little pampering into your life. Enjoy!
1. Create a home spa
Banish the kids, lock the door and create a home spa in your bathroom for a night!
First up for that authentic spa feel is candles. We love the Relax scented candle by Ragdale Hall (£7.50, M&S), which contains aromas of lavender, clary sage, and geranium – all known for their relaxing properties.
Obviously you can’t just have a normal bath – for a true spa experience you need a therapeutic soak. One of our bath-time favourites is Bubble T Bubbles & Tea Edition Bath Jelly. Not only does it smell gorgeous and fruity, but it also contains goji berry for an added antioxidant boost! If you weren’t lucky enough to get September’s Pink Parcel containing the bath jelly, you can buy it exclusively from Superdrug.
For added spa touches, warm your towels and make sure you’ve got a fluffy robe and slippers to pop on when you get out of the bath. Add in some favourite tunes and you’ve got a personalised spa experience – all without having to leave home.
2. Throw a pamper party
Socialise with your friends and share your skills by hosting a pamper party. If you’ve got beauty therapist friends, they should definitely be on the top of your invite list, however, even if your beauty experience is limited to a couple of coats of nail polish once a week you can still enjoy a night of pampering with your best mates.
Why not try out some DIY facials? Check out our favourites on our pampering Pinterest board. Or you can practice some easy nail art or do some cool hairstyles? Throw in a bottle of bubbles and you’re feel relaxed in no time.
3. Book a cheap beauty treat
If you prefer to leave the beauty treats to the professionals, it still doesn’t have to break the bank. Many salons have deals on treats such as facials, massages and manicures during off-peak times or when training new staff. Give your local salon a call or subscribe to their mailing list. Alternatively scour deal websites such as Groupon and Wahanda to find beauty treatments at a bargain price.
4. Buy a box of chocolates – for you!
You probably buy chocolates for everyone else, but when was the last time you sat down with a huge box of chocolates and ate them all yourself? We say that’s the ultimate in pampering – especially when PMS strikes. If for some reason chocolate isn’t your thing, why not treat yourself to a huge big bunch of flowers? They’re bound to bring a big smile to your face every time you look at them.
5. Get a personal shopper
While personal shoppers and rich celebrities go hand-in-hand, it doesn’t mean you need an A-list salary to get one! Big shops such as House of Fraser and TopShop offer the service for free – and there’s no obligation to buy. However, we can’t promise you won’t be tempted to hand over your credit card yelling ‘I want it all’…
6. Swap it
Whether you want a holiday, a new wardrobe or need someone with a special skill, you can now do this via the power of swapping! Instead of parting with cash, you use something you already have – such as your home or old clothes – and swap them for something else. It’s a great way to try out new locations or new styles without breaking the bank!
