7 unusual ways to get your chocolate fix today
Not that we ever need an excuse, but as it’s National Chocolate Week, we thought we’d take a look at different ways to add chocolate to your everyday diet!
1. Add to your main meal
Mixing in a couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder or a couple of squares of dark chocolate to your chilli con carne adds a lovely rich flavour.
2. Or make an unusual dessert
What does a pile of chocolate + an avocado equal? A delicious – yet healthy – chocolate pudding! Seriously, these two slightly freakish ingredients make a dessert that is yummy and good for your heart. We tried this recipe and LOVED it!.
3. Enjoy a cup of chocolate tea
Tea combined with chocolate is a truly amazing mix. Our favourite is Tea Pigs Chocolate Flake Tea, which includes real chocolate chunks.
4. Go raw!
Fancy a taste of chocolate but don’t want your waistline suffering? Then get hold of some raw cacao powder, which is basically chocolate but without the added fat and milk! Try sprinkling it over bananas on toast for a breakfast boost or adding to smoothies.
5. Cook a chocolate cake in 70 seconds
Desperate for a slice of chocolate cake NOW? Whip up this simple chocolate mug cake recipe in your microwave in just over a minute. Then eat it in about 10 seconds!
6. Drink chocolate wine
Yes! The two best things in the world ever combined in one gorgeous bottle! Rubis is a blend of fortified tempranillo wine and chocolate. It might not be to everyone’s taste but at least you never have need to have that chocolate or wine discussion in your head again..
7. Have a chocolate facial
The Bentley Hotel Spa offers the ultimate facial for all chocolate lovers! The Karin Herzog CO-CO² chocolate oxygen facial not only smells good enough to eat, but it also promises to plump and firm the skin. If you can’t afford the £95 price tag, then indulge in some DIY pampering with JOIK Rejuvenating chocolate facial mask (£11) or 7th Heaven White Chocolate Face Mud Mask (£1).
