5 Things The Celebs Do When Feeling ‘Meh’

Whether you’re tired, cramping or generally feeling moody AF – follow what the celebs do to get themselves back on form.

They listen to their body

Wanna eat? Then eat girl. When we’re pre-menstrual our serotonin levels dip, causing us to drool after carbs and sugar. But rather than denying yourself or binging and then feeling guilty, listen to your body and accept that what you’re craving today – in period zone – won’t necessarily be what you want to eat at another time of the month. Our fave girl in Hollywood Jennifer Lawrence, refuses to diet at anytime…for anyone. ‘If anybody even tries to whisper the word diet, I’m like go f**ck yourself,’ she’s said.

They get busy

Moping around in your PJs might feel like the only thing you want to do, but actually getting motivated, getting out, and throwing yourself into something new can turn your mood around. Angelina Jolie credits throwing herself into a new movie when she was struggling with black moods. “I felt I was going into a very dark place, and I wasn’t capable of getting up in the morning, so I signed up for something that would force me to be active,” she revealed.

They cry it out then turn it around

Oh the relief of a big, salty-teared sob – the calm it can bring is unbeatable. Anxiety, fatigue, aggression and general sadness can all be eased with a bawl and there’s no absolutely shame in releasing those emotions when you’re feeling them. Beyonce uses the calm after the storm to turn her negative thoughts into positive ones. “When I’m not feeling my best I ask myself, “What are you gonna do about it?” I use the negativity to fuel the transformation into a better me,” she said.

They know when not to obsess about appearance

So you’ve got a lovely cluster of spots, you’re hair is beyond greasy and your Sunday clothes really do say Sunday. But you know what, who cares? It’s not as if you always look this, ehem, natural. Sometime letting it all go and just being you can be super-liberating. “I don’t really care what I look like that much, and I think women out there should just be happy with the way they look,” agreed Rebel Wilson.

They’re kind to themselves

Sometimes our biggest enemies can be ourselves. We work hard, play hard, look after our relationships and social lives, but then question why we feel burnt out – even when we’re on. Like, hello?? Don’t push yourself to achieve everything, all the time, it’s ok to drop a ball. Emma Stone knows the score, “I remind myself to be kind to myself, and as slightly ridiculous as it may sound, to treat myself in the same gentle way I’d want to treat a daughter of mine. It really helps,” she said.
