4 easy steps to glowing skin
Get your glow on with these simple tips.
1. Get the oil out
While it might seem more at home in a frying pan, oil actually makes a fabulous cleanser. Not only does it remove everything – and we mean everything – but oil is super gentle on skin, adding moisture and helping your skin to glow naturally. Try Shea cleansing oil, £17, L’Occitane. It’s expensive but a little goes a long way.
2. Scrub up
Skin loses its glow due to a build-up of dead skin cells – yuck! Stick to gentle formulations though as harsh exfoliators can do more damage than good. We love Skin Perfecting Face Polish by Organic Surge (£6.99 or in February’s Pink Parcel), which is suitable for even sensitive skins and contains lots of glow-getting ingredients like ginkgo biloba soothe and almond oil.
3. Eat right
While that Big Mac and fries tastes nice, it sure ain’t doing your skin any favours. Devoid of nutrition, fast food creates spikes in your blood sugar and wreaking havoc on your skin. Instead, choose nuts such as walnuts, which are loaded with skin-loving omega 3 or antioxidant-packed berries and you’ll be glowing like an A-lister working a red carpet in no time.
4. Fake it!
If all else fails, fake it. Use a primer under your foundation such as L’Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer, £9.99. This will even out skin and add a glow. Alternatively whack on a highlighter post-foundation, such as Topshop Beauty Glow Highlighter, £9. Apply to cheekbones to give you that perfect ‘just been to the gym and kicked ass’ glow!
